Move-out procedures after the end of a Residence Hall''s regular opening

  1. 1. A move-out period is a final term period of each semester. Residents should clean their rooms before leaving and put all the items back to where they were.
    - When leaving the dormitory, residents should dispose of or discard all personal items except items provided by the dormitory and have someone inspect the status of items and cleanliness in the room. Violations can affect future move-in, leading to penalty points and restrictions on move-in.
  2. 2. When preparation for move-out is completed, report to relevant personnel for inspection or a maintenance room on the first floor one day before the estimated move-out (not only the personal area but also communal living area such as a bathroom or veranda).
  3. 3. Missing or damaged equipment in the dormitory should be reported for compensation of prices before move-out.
    - Damaged facilities and missing equipment in the room found based on inspection after move-out can lead to compensation and restrictions on future move-in.
  4. 4. Residents finishing a final move-out report should keep all the doors in the room open before moving out of the dormitory.
  5. 5. Meals provided on the day of move-out include breakfast and lunch, with all the necessary move-out procedures to be completed by 3 p.m.

Interim move-out

Residents who must move out of the dormitory due to a semester break, diseases, accidents or other reasons should apply for move-out from the Residence Hall website (download a form from the administration office website or the Residence Hall website ? fill out the form ? submit the form with other documents). After cleaning and tidying up the room, with the room inspected by a maintenance personnel, the room key should be returned to a maintenance room or an administration room before move-out.
Calculation of Residence Hall expenses of those who move out of the dormitory is as follows: However, those who move out of the room due to mandatory military service, death and certain diseases will be reimbursed for the total amount of remaining days when necessary documents are submitted.

  • Refund of maintenance fees for interim move-out
    • Cancellation of move-in within 7 days before the opening: 90 percent of maintenance fees will be refunded
    • Move-out within 25 days after move-in: deducting the amount for 30 days
    • Move-out after 25 days after move-in deducting the amount for the duration of residents'' stay in the room and extra five days
  • Refund of meal expenses for interim move-out
    • Cancellation of move-in before the opening: all the meal expenses will be refunded
    • Move-out after move-in: refund after deducting the amount for the duration of residents’ stay in the room and extra five days
  • When the remaining days before the expiration of residence period are less than 15 days, residents are given no refund.
  • Refunds will be sent to the bank account specified in the move-out form within two weeks from the day of move-out after inspecting the cleanliness of a dormitory room.

Compulsory move-out for violating Residents'' Regulations

  1. 1. Those who let non-residents (parents and other people with no prior admission) except those who applied for move-in stay overnight in the dormitory
  2. 2. Those who moved in on behalf of actual applicants by illegally using others'' names in order to live in the dormitory or allowed others to do so
  3. 3. Those who interfered with the academic atmosphere by committing theft, violence, gambling or propagating certain, particular religions in the dormitory
  4. 4. Those who failed to comply with Residence Hall personnel''s guidance more than twice or those who verbally and/or physically abuse others
  5. 5. Those who were charged with sexual harrassment and sexual abuse for violating the domestic laws or those who were subjected to suspension from school for a definite period, pursuant to the CNU regulations
  6. 6. Those who smoked in the dormitory (dormitory room, communal corridor, lounge, bathroom, studying room, laundry room, computer room and rooftop)
  7. 7. Those who brought electric heating appliances, including a gas burner, electric mattress pad and hot plate and/or inflammable (or combustible) materials, including butane gas, oil, explosives and chemicals, into the dormitory or kept them to use later in the dormitory
  8. 8. Those who arbitrarily manipulated an automatic door opening/closing device of the dormitory or forcibly kept the door open to avoid receiving penalty points for returning to the dormitory late
  9. 9. Those who are deemed inappropriate to live in the dormitory and determined to move out of the dormitory by the Director of the Residence Hall
  • Compulsory move-out is immediately executed without a grace period. However, those under some unavoidable, inevitable circumstances can delay move-out up to three days after consultation.
  • When move-out procedures are completed, residents'' guardians should be informed for students'' living guidance.
  • Those subjected to compulsory move-out cannot stay in the CNU Yeosu Residence Hall during the period of bachelor''s, master''s and doctoral studies.
